Tonight for the last hour and a half or so, i have been unable to play the game because my character does not seem to be connected to the server properly. I first noticed the problem when i was traveling with a group of friends on a road to Elektro. We stopped for a little while to swap supplies, but at some point nothing i did seemed to register with the server. I could not interact with any items (eg. tear a t-shirt into rags, drink, pull out a weapon, etc), and the friends i traveled with started to bug out. For example, one of my friends would randomly start running into the distance and stop while still running in place. Another one of my friends would be standing in front of me doing nothing. I know this was not happening because they were telling me that they were in fact moving around normally, while on my screen they would be bugging out. This would not be an issue normally, as we would just hop onto another server if any of us were having connection issues. However, this was not isolated to a single server. We tried re-logging onto at least 4 other servers and i was still the only one who had the issue. The problem was not my internet connection either as i was still able to join other multiplayer games (Battlefield and Red Orchestra).

The same issue repeated multiple times on multiple servers whenever i would log on.
I thought my character or one of my items was bugging, so i had one of my friends kill me (as they could still see me moving around properly) so that i could respawn with a fresh character. When i met up with them again the same issues continued. Also, occasionally i would get the red disconnected chain symbol while this was occurring, but not all the time. It could still just be a problem on my end, but i thought i would report it because it has persisted all night and has never occurred for this duration of time before.

I'm getting it too. And it's not Desync. No way. You can still run about freely. But no Desync bar comes up or a server connection issue. I wandered for 2 hours. :/.
Same thing here. My ping is a pretty much doubled to what it usually is.
I can roam around freely but when I have to access my gear (combine, use, pick up...) it takes a while to work.
Is there a list of ports that we need to forward? I had no problem with the DayZ mod/ Arma2/ Arma3
Edit: I've just updated my modem's firmware to its latest version and now the ping dropped down to normal levels and no more lag in the inventory :)
Try updating your modem firmware :) Hope it helps
Same thing here. I can run around all I want but I can't perform any actions. Sometimes the red chain appears and then I can perform actions again. What is really weird is that other players are invisible. I was traveling with a friend and I could't see him, yet he could see me and I wasn't bugging out on his screen.
This just started happening to me today. Everything was working fine yesterday (Dec. 21). Now although the server list comes up fine, some times it just hangs on 'wait for host' and disconnects, other times it allows me on, but redlinks and the console says my character is losing connection, and then other times I'm on for about 15 sec to a few mins or so, and I get rubber-banded back to the same place I started or redlinked and disconnected. Re-installation did not help. My connection is 100MB, various upload/download speed tests are just fine. Ping times to the server are fine, even when playing. I even took it to the inferior coffee shop wireless and it worked without a hitch. My Comcast connection just seems not to want to connect to any DayZ servers. Just desync 13 or 14, ping 28, bandwidth 494, 822, 1082

I have this issue too. My character seems to be working fine from my friends' perspectives, but on my side it's like I've disconnected - everyone stands still or moves in the last direction they were pressing endlessly. I can't open doors, pick things up or use things in my inventory. It really sucks when it happens in a firefight because my character is still live but I don't get any updates on what's happening until my side catches up.
I've noticed that once you see the red chain pop up, your side has caught up and everything is updated to normal, but for me that only lasts for a second or too and it repeats. My client lags out for like 5 minutes and catches up, only to lag out again. Relogging fixes the problem by updating everything when you log in, but within a few seconds it happens again and everything lags out. Sometimes I can play for 30 minutes and it'll only happen for 20-30 second stretches every once in a while, or sometimes it's endless and I have to relog to fix it, only for it to happen immediately upon login.
Playing other games or even the mod doesn't cause this problem - maybe it has something to do with the network bubble?
*I'll add that I live in central US and can connect to servers with 10 ping, having a 30/mb download/4 upload speed, and this issue still happens. Although, once I lag out and "reconnect" (in that my side updates where everyone around me is and lets me use items again), it'll give me a 100000 desync value
I had this problem too, try and go through your inventory and throw anything out that might not supposed to be happened, basically exploits youre using)
I exploited the fact that you can put backpacks into backpacks and have leftover inventory slots, server never registered anything for me again untill I threw the backpacks on the ground.
