This happens a lot with weapons, they do indeed take up to 30 seconds or even 10 seconds to appear. I'm not sure what it depends on.

I can confirm this as well. It's happened half a dozen times to me when dropping food for a friend.

Note this often when droping a jacket to change to a new one, and the one I just took off, with all the stuff in my pockets that I want back, takes its sweet time to re appear so I can pull the stuff out of it.
I have not in serveral times had it not appear how ever. Just can take some time
