Player night vision

Description

To whom it may concern...

A game addition I that I think would improve DayZ a lot is realistic natural night vision.
For example: Players sight improves in low light conditions over time (e.g. 5 mins) to a somewhat useable greyscale.
Also if a player looks at a street lamp/fire/flare their night vision deteriorates.
Most importantly if a torch is shone in the eyes of someone using natural night vision it will cause brief temporary blindness. This will allow a realistic defense/escape mechanism for when "bambie" meets "geared up bandit" at night.
This easily may deteriorate into players ambushing each other with torches, then axe in the head scenario, but as long as the blindness was only brief the advantage shouldn't shift too much toward the torch holder.
Real world - Dazzling weapons are an effective tactic.

For your consideration...

All good points,
IRL you close one eye to protect your night vision when you expect a flash or brightness, this really decreases the night vision recovery time.
Also the periphery of you vision area is MORE sensitive in low light then the center of your view. More cones or rods or something. Try to model that in game...dare you

But this in game "expert tactic" of throwing a flare to blind NVG users, would also have a big impact on any normal night vision viewers who were not prepared for it.
