I have noticed that when you are on a balcony or some other place hidden from direct view of the zombie it can still sense you and it will become alerted.

Steps To Reproduce
Go into the new apartment buildings and wait till a zombie comes along underneath you. It will become alerted no matter how high you are. I'm not sure if this is intended but being 10 stories above a zombie; i don't believe it should be able to aggro you.
