If, when you die, you hit exit instead of respawn, you can log back in on the same or any other server and you will have all your gear and be restored to life at the same exact location where you died. Furthermore, if you are with a friend, they can kill you, take your stuff, and you can just exit the server(rather than respawn) and log back in with all the stuff you had before dying, resulting in duplicated items.
