Tried on many different houses and on several different servers but could not open doors or climb ladders, even ones which i have so previously. I did not change the game in anyway i simply logged on and it would not allow me. I confirmed with other players in game that this was happening to them as well

Make sure to search before posting issues. This is a known bug at the moment that has been reported a lot recently.
The problem is the server is not running the same version of the game as your client. Make sure the sever and client version match.

join a server which matches your client version ( top right of your start menu ). Can make filter the version in the server search menus
