I'm not sure if this is a problem but every single deer stand out of 20 I visited yielded no loot. Idk if they are suppose to or not but they haven't had any loot for me.

I can confirm that every deer stand I have visited contains no loot whatsoever (and it's not been floating above or buried underneath)
