After death both myself and a couple of friends have respawned in a nearby area (Not your typical spawn spot) with all of the gear we previously had and full health. Our bodies have also been there to loot the same items.

On a few occasions this has made certain players invincible. 2 players were unable to kill a stationary target after 10 minutes, whereas I was able to kill him straight away (I was also suffering from the same problem)
