Unfortunately, i played over 8h and haven't found any "knifes" besides a kitchen knife or bayonets, and also a can opener. You probably just got lucky, but let me tell you, i have played with a group of 10-15 people, and only 1 person after 6h of game time has found one can opener, besides this we died multiple times due to starvations.

Those kitchen knifes and bayonets will open the cans!

also picked up matches screw driver an it shows white icon an not letting me use them.......matches where 90 percent there when in my inventory they have 0 percent

Olympian69, you need to chill dude. Rocket said today that the knife, bayonet, and screw driver will be able to open cans with the next update.

2 can openers 2 kitchen knifes 3 screwdrivers. in ~ 3-4h gameplay

you might try avoidibg scavanging in high popular places, since it only respawns at server restart, many places have probably been looted
