After re-installing the game and Steam multiple times, verifying game cache, adding exceptions and even disabling firewalls for DayZ, I cannot create a character. The character profile is successfully written to My Documents, but in-game I do not see my character at the main menu. I'm assuming this is the reason I cannot connect to servers, as people on ARMA 2 have reported a similar issue of not being able to connect to servers if they have not created a profile. And yes, I have the Multiplayer tab set to Internet, and the filters are set to default, and I have tried setting the ping to 200, 300, 400, and higher.
Another computer on the same network with very similar hardware and the same operating system is functioning perfectly with DayZ, so I don't know why this is happening.

So problem is that you are dont see any servers in server browser, or that you just cant join them? If it is second case, does any error message show up?
Cannot see any servers to connect to. Character also fails to display in main menu. Im guessing the failed character creation has something to do with not seeing any servers?
Character is written to the My Documents folder, though.
In this case we will need dxdiag and files from this folder: "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\DayZ\"
Can you pack the files in winrar and upload it somewhere please?

OK - it seems to have been a driver issue. The system was not running the correct version of Catalyst drivers. Was running a very old version of Catalyst. Updated to the 13.9 and everything works fine!
