Crash on every launch
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Arma 3 is closing every time I open it with an error of 0X00000035 - error and no explanation. I have tried:

  • Removing mods from the Addons and Keys folder
  • Disabling mods via the launcher
  • Disabling mods via steam's launch parameters
  • Launching Arma 3 without mods, I get the same error?

On the Launcher it is labeled that I have no mods.
I am not a noob with computers but my crash report analysis is not what I would call "Good".
This may have already been answered but I cannot find the answer anywhere?

Any help is appreciated

Hello, is your Steam running before you try to start the game with the launcher?

Have you verified the integrity of your game cache? Maybe you accidently deleted some important files when you had the modifications and key files removed.

Hello,

we are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

One of the possible reasons for this message is running Steam as an administrator and starting Launcher as a regular user. If this situation occurs, Launcher may display a "Updates unavailable - Steam is not running" message in its status.

Possible solutions:

-Run the game from Steam client by clicking on the Play button (not from a shortcut nor directly from an executable).
-Exit Steam and run as a regular user (instead of running it as an administrator).
-Run the game or the Launcher from a shortcut or from an executable as an administrator.
-Restart Steam.
-Restart the computer.

Please let us know if any of this helped.

Thank you

Ok, I tried running steam as Administrator and lauching Arma 3 from that and now I do not see the "Steam not running" message and it works great. Thanks Will
