I think it would be fantastic to allow those that either don't want to or don't have HOTAS setups to use the AFM. This means changing the speed of the non-analog collective input in AFM to a completely uniform speed (the fastest current setting would be fine) without any 'acceleration' to that speed.

If for whatever reason that is impossible, a setting to use the SFM collective in place of the AFM collective while maintaining all other AFM options would be a great tweak as well.
