First of all, I love ARMAs concept of huge maps and a super realistic military simulation like battle experience. Personally its like how Battlefield >2 from EA should have been like. But as we all know, they screwed removing the simulation aspects and replacing them with tiny maps, a tick rate of 10!! and a epileptic seizure style battle experience.
But back to topic:
My multiplayer experience in ARMAIII is suffering from diverse bugs and most important from very poor performance on every multiplayer server i join.
Ive got a high end rig with good internet connection:
CPU: Core i7 3770K
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1600
GPU: ATI/AMD R9 290X
HDD: Crucial MX100 512GB SSD
VDSL: 20/2 Mbit D/U
I can play every other game on ultra settings with >60 fps but when i join a multiplayer server in ARMAIII I barely get 10-20 fps.
What Ive tried so far:
- changed ingame graphics settings from ultra to low to vsync disabled to viewdistance 0 to GIMME JUST 10 FPS MORE BI*** --> no effect
- set startup parameters (every possible recomended combination i found in the internets) --> no effect
- bought a watercooler for my cpu and overclocked it to 4.5GHz --> no effect
- killed every other process which possibly could bother ARMA or otherwise jam around in my PC --> no effect
So its clearly not a client side but a serverside/netcode/game-engine issue. PLEASE BI solve this issue. This is very very very annoying and should be on top of the "SOLVE IT OR THIS SWEET KITTEN WILL DIE!!" list at BI.
This issue leads to a poor to unplayable multiplayer experience like "oh look an enemy; but it takes me 10 seconds till i can get him in my sights because tons of mouse delay @ 3-5 fps and on the next "slide" he just disappears.
Such a great concept beeing killed just by poor performance. Please fix this since I know everybody is experiencing the same issue.
