With the release of the Advanced Flight Dynamics for helicopters, the torque dial has become something that actually needs to be paid attention to. However, the attack helicopters on both BLUEFOR and OPFOR do not have any indicators of rotor RPM or transmission torque, leaving the only way of knowing you're about to break your helicopter being the over-torque indicator in the upper left of the ArmA HUD. An RPM indicator would be handy, as well, in-case I do break my engine mid-flight and need to perform auto-rotation for a safe landing.
These helicopters also happen to have unused/misused static MFD spaces (Why does a pilot need a blurry readout of weapon systems status?). All of the transport, cargo, and reconnaissance helicopters have dials or MFD readouts for rotor RPM torque. Why did the attack helicopters get skipped? I know there are several other requests out already for helicopter MFD functionality, but most seem to be for GPS or TAS functionality. I just want engine stats.
The "Collective Throttle Percentage" readout on the HUD/HMD is a nice touch, though. Flying advanced dynamics with keyboard only (I use the mouse to always free-look) often leaves me in the dark as to where my collective is at, even when I stare at the darn thing during adjustments.
