arma3 needs front-/rearspeaker position adjustment support for 5.1/7.1 surround
New, WishlistPublic

Description

With the 5.1 headset I`m using to play ARMA3 with, I experience deaf-spots from each of both front directions, approximatly 30-45° from center-front to right and left side. This angle varies slightly between 1st and 3rd person view.

(I strongly believe this is because my headset`s internal speaker alignement, more info in "additional inforamtion" section)

I wish for surroundspeaker position adjustment capability in ARMA3 configfiles, like CS:GO does it with the
"snd_front_surround_speaker_position" and "snd_rear_surround_speaker_position"
commands.
(I was able to fix the deaf-spots in cs:go by using a lower frontsurround speakerposition value)

looking at source of sound i.e. helicopter ready4TO infront of player, then slowly turning around 360° will present two silenced areas between center- and frontspeakers.

Additional Information

The 5.1 headset I use is the Tritton PC510HDa (MadCatz), an analog connected, 8 driver (one front, rear, center and subwooferspeaker in each earcuff) setup. The soundchip is the Realtek ALC892 with 7.1 and 192kHz/24bit capability, set to 5.1 with no roomtype/equilizer/modulations enabled.
Like stated above, I was able to enjoy full 360° surround in cs:go after tweaking the games speakerposition commands.
I`ve also tried my older Medusa 5.1 ProGamer headset, which is very similar to the Tritton (analog & 8 driver), but the Medusa`s rear- and frontspeakers are physicly in a different aligment inside the earcuffs and therefor dont produce any "deafspots".
I have over 900h in ARMA3, please help me hear full 360° because my current headset is good, but stupid :D

Uh, why not use some 3rd party tool for that?
If you are having this issue in other games too (as you stated) then there are other solutions to your problem.
