Using a compass, map, watch or the GPU brings up an overlay, which is not very realistic.
Maybe you can say the GPU is mounted on the HUD of the helmet, but that in not inferred through the GPU icon in the inventory, and you can use it even without a helmet.
But the watch, it just comes up in front of me, when I would expect my player will rise his hand to see the watch, which should be on his wrist, and the compass just magically comes up, with no hand holding it. Its immersion braking.
To a lesser degree, the map suffers as well.
