t-100 ai crew

Description

When ever you are in the commander seat for the t-100's, the gunner would keep the turret looking to the right till I hit the tank with a tree. When I command the driver to turn left or right, the driver would go back to the original direction from before.

Hey, thank you for the report!

Unless the AI is initialized in the vehicle, the gunner's initial watch direction will be north. Once you start moving, unless the gunner has a target to aim at, the gunner AI will try to align the gun in the direction of the vehicles' movement.

Do you find it wrong or were you experiencing a different behavior?

No i wasn't talking about the main gunner, I was talking about the driver. I had all these ai get in the tank if that helps any. For some reason i have to do a complete stop to turn the tank without it turning back (if there is an ai thats driving). If you go any speed, the driver will turn back where it was orginally going if you tell him to turn left or right. I hope this clears up some things.

I'll try and explain this better. I think he is saying that when telling the driver to turn in a direction, the driver would turn in that direction but return to the direction he was heading before the command was given when the commander released the "turn in x direction" key. For example, the vehicle is moving at a direction of 0 degrees (North). The commander tells the driver to turn left, and holds that key until the desired heading is reached (45 degrees for our purposes). After releasing that key, the driver will then return to a heading of 0 degrees. Instead of making a half-turn, as the commander intended, the driver would do a sort of jockey like maneuver. I am not certain if this applies to other vehicles (I am fairly sure, but I haven't tested it), if there is a way around this (like maybe tapping the turn key), or if this issue is still present. I hope this has helped in solving this problem.

Could you please make a video? I am unable to repro the issue.

My driver turns and then keeps the direction correctly.
