GBU / JDAM Target Lock-On Constraints Unrealistic and ineffective.
New, WishlistPublic

Description

The GBU and JDAM Bomb Lock On targeting system is more aligned with the lock-on constraints of the Shoulder-fired missles than a real laser or GPS targeting system used on modern military aircraft. The system engine parameters should be adjusted to mimic the ArmA2 OA/ACE configuration that allows Target Designation from Beyond Visual Range (BVR) and Solid Tone Diamond Lock when the Bomb is within gravity fall physics variables. With a laser target, the higher the aircraft alititude, the farther out the pilot can release the bomb. Same with the JDAM weapons developed by community users through MODs.

Steps To Reproduce

No need, any time you engage via LGB or JDAM, the target is acquired from 2 or less KM and a lock is allowed under 1 KM distance. The key word here is "Standoff" capability and that is what is lacking from these realistic weapons from the real world.
