The game crashes randomly: D3D Error-DGXI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED
New, WishlistPublic

Description

The error message, as displayed in the title, appears after my game crashes randomly, for no apparent reason. So far, I have only made it through a few showcase missions, but the game will crash randomly, and sometimes at the same point over and over. The game will lag a bit, and then completely close out, and up comes the message: D3D Error-DGXI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED.
I really need an explanation/fix. This is driving me up a wall, the answer seems so elusive, and tons of people suffer from this same problem. So please, if you have any idea on how to potentially fix this, do let me know ASAP. You would be helping more people than just myself. I've heard it may be a driver problem, and I have an Intel(HD) graphics card, so the game runs decently. The solution I heard was to revert to an older set of drivers, specifically driver 2932 I believe. The problem is, I have no idea how to get/install this driver. If you potentially know about this solution, let me know.
Thanks!

Guys, I found a fix, at least for myself. I was getting the error: D3D Error- DGXI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED. I have an Intel Pentium(R) 2020 processor and an Intel HD grapics card, so this fix may only work on intel GPU's. It took me a good day and a half to actually figure out what the problem was, but through researching all these threads about this particular error, I stumbled across the root of the problem; an error in the GPU's driver. I'm not sure exactly why, but to get the game to run, I needed to revert to an older driver, in my case the driver was:

9.17.10.2932

And it worked! My problem was, I kept encountering dead links on "Third part sites", which seemed less then reputable; and every time I went to Intel's site to download the driver I needed, it either gave me an error message upon attempting to install, or when I used the "Intel driver update utility" I got the driver I needed, but upon attempting to install, I once again got the error saying my computer was not compatible. Through trial and error, I eventually decided to visit my computer manufacturers website, where I found all the drivers for my laptop. You can see here: http://support.toshiba.com/support/driversResults?freeText=9D020547Q

It took me so long to find these drivers because, to me, common sense would dictate that if you need to update your GPU's driver, you would visit the GPU manufacturers website, not the website of the computer manufacturer. Regardless, this solution worked for me, and if there is one thing you can take from this monologue, its this: This error is very potentially a driver error, and can be solved by reverting back to an older driver or finding whatever one ArmA 3 is compatible with. I'm no technological wizard, but I hope this will help you resolve this burdensome issue. And thank you to everyone who has posted in these threads, its you guys who led me to this conclusion. :D
