Description

Dear devs at Bohemia Interactive,

I recently watched a video about some hidden potential in Arma 3, the ability to open some sidedoors of a bunch of vehicles and i was amazed, when i saw how the ifrit looks like, after you open all the hatches.

Here the video on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENPsaOT5IlY&list=UUuCvN07ihS1JwXVtMRzX3Mg

So I thought, this would be really cool, if it was implemented in the full game, because i adds alot to realism/immersion, when you have that kind of interaction-ability with vehicles and in case of the ifrit i couldnt even imagine, that i could look that cool, when you open the hatches.

Now this made me think also of the new released A-10C Thundelbolt II mod, where you can actually turn on some of the instruments inside the cockpit.

Here the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2fNm8nmarw

So, it doesnt have to be that advanced but, if you had to, for example, first turn on an ignition key in the hunter by looking at it and pressing the right button this would be so much more fun driving vehicles and also makes you feel so much more connected to the machine(Maybe this could be disabled if you enter the vehicle in third person and or an option to turn on in the settings like "advanced vehicle functions").
Also you could transfer this to opening, or getting in the vehicles just by looking at the correct door and pressing the right key, rather than using the action menu, just like in the video dyslecxi made a while ago, where he shows first the problems with the menu and then a solution how to improve or change this to a very easy and understandable feature.

Finally, i know this is propably not something easy to just implement but it would be, at least in my opinion, a additional feature, that makes Arma 3 even more standing out of every other current title in the gaming industry. An Idea, if the resources at Bohemia aren't big enough, did you ever hear of the game called "Star Citizen" and how they finance everything trough crowdfunding to make the best spaceship-simulator in the world? They just list a milestone of a certain amount they want to reach, with the included features they want to add and the people are willingly to donate. I'm sure there are a lot of people including myself, who would spend some money to you, dear Bohemia, helping to make Arma 3 the best fucking military-action-shooter-simulator-game in the world!

Ps: sorry for eventual spelling- and grammar mistakes...;)

The doors were openable for a short time in the dev build during the beta, but there were some (and by some, I mean A LOT) issues with them.

Also, all of this has already been reported. In the future, try looking for tickets using the search function (or Google) and report only one issue/request per ticket. And close this ticket because it servers no purpose what so ever.

The interaction from the A-10 is never going to happen (in motion) on a standard BI vehicle, physX libraries and it have a nasty disagreement which causes the actions to essentially free float in motion and go all over the place....however from a static standpoint such as with the ignition key then it could work, but then there needs to be a way to disable a simple button press causing it to start up.

This could be done by creating a script that drains all fuel or using setvelocity but thats not likely to fly for standard vehicles.

@NodUnit yeah that would'nt be so nice :( .To be honest i don't now anything about scripting/programming, it was just a suggestion-thingie...

@AD2001 You're right, I just hope they finish, what they already began, but maybe it's to difficult to implement or to much of a gameplaymechanics-changer, so they dumped it.
