When units are moving through bushes and foliage their movement should shift or shake the scrubbery objects they hit.
Gameplay would benefit in the following aspects:
- Increased immersion
- Compensation for the well known handicap players have against AI w.r.t. camouflage. I.e. players currently have more difficulty spotting AI units through foliage at a distance, even if parts are clearly visible. Bushes shifting as units move through would alert players (like in real life).
As the engine already includes a mechanism for shifting foliage as a reaction to wind, it might not be overly complicated to derive the impulse for shifts from unit movement speed instead of wind?
If shift impulse calculation would take into account movement speed, even PvP gameplay would benefit greatly. There would be an additional reward for cautious movement or penalty for rushing.
