There is a command that gives you animation time of current animation - "moveTime"
By using it one could easily see most animations just start and finish, however the advance stance animations go into a loop and this loop keep repeating while your character is doing nothing.

I think eventually the animation stops like after 10 seconds or so. I seem to remember making ticket about it and now I know why this is happening http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=12579
But what I don't understand is surely while animation is running (as timecode in the hint shows) the animation needs to be synced over network, right? Unnecessary bandwidth and server load?
