BIS_fnc_ambientAnim with stance "GUARD" removes the unit's primary weapon (instead of shouldering it). Same issue for ambientAnimCombat.

In editor place soldier with >>[this, "GUARD"] call BIS_fnc_ambientAnim<< inside init field. Check that unit has no rifle.
