New Unit formation NATO: Infantry + Tank Team
New, WishlistPublic

Description

There are currently no Units making employ of the Slammers cargo space. Tactics would be heavily focused on making use of this feature where possible, since direct infantry support for tanks makes them much more effective in any kind of combat.

The Units should have the following compositions:

Heavy Infantry Armor Squad:

Lead Tank (1x Slammer, 6 Infantry in cargo)
Team leader, LMG Gunner, LMG Assistant, Grenadier, AT Gunner, AT Assistant

Second Tank (1x Slammer, 6 Infantry in cargo)
Team leader, LMG Gunner, LMG Assistant, Repair Specialist, Squad Medic, Rifleman

And should as well be available as an individual tank + Infantry team as follows:

1x Slammer, 6 Infantry in cargo
Team leader, LMG Gunner, LMG Assistant, Repair specialist, AT Gunner, AT Assistant

The factions need to use their doctrinal capabilities to the fullest. The Slammer is specially designed to carry infantry in support, and ORBAT and field Doctrine should reflect this feature.

You know you can just team up units as you like?

Yes, however, these Units will behave differently unless set to exactly the same values and placed in the correct order.

Also, BI usually uses native unit formations in their campaigns, and this kind of team mentioned above should be a native formation used by TF Aegis armor + infantry teams, rather than the formation employed now which is essentially what you would see in a current tank platoon.

I have never seen any difference whether you place whole groups or individual units. I'm interested of hearing more about this. Could you explain to me how they behave differently?

Nevertheless, this is one of the "why-not" features, so "why not". Voted up. ;)
