Laser marked targets are difficult to lock/see from the A-143 Buzzard
New, WishlistPublic

Description

When somebody is laser-marking a target for you to bomb with the A-143, it is hard to tell what to attempt to lock on to. The laser marker appears on the HUD as the same box that denotes a vehicle, and it shows up on the radar with the same red square that denotes a hostile ground vehicle. When a large group of vehicles is being designated, the designation-box on the HUD looks just like any other vehicle, making it difficult to tell if and what is being designated. What we need is for the HUD marker to look different than the others (maybe a box with an X through it or something), and maybe for the radar marker to be a different color than the rest. This would make the designator a much more useful and effective tool. Surely a jet from 2035 would be able to do this.

Steps To Reproduce

Take off in an A-143 Buzzard (CAS), and have a friend (or if you have the skill to make it happen using AI; which is highly unlikely) designate a group of vehicles for you to lock onto with the GBU-12 bomb. You will notice that it is difficult to tell what is being marked, whether you look at the HUD or radar, because both the HUD marker and the radar Icon that denotes a laser designation is identical to that of a vehicle.

Additional Information

tl;dr: The icon that denotes a laser designation on the buzzard's hud is the same as the one that shows a vehicle. This makes locking onto lased targets with the GBU-12 difficult. Renders JTAC practically useless.
