All helicopters with retractable landing gear have no option between auto and manual raise and lowering landing gear. I'm pretty sure this would work for fix-wing ACFT as well.
In current version of game its done automatically.

Steps To Reproduce
When ACFT is climbing above 30 meters gear auto retract.
When ACFT is in a forward airspeed, gear retract at 20 meters.
When ACFT is descending rapidly between 2-5 meters gear auto lowers.
Additional Information
There should be an Gear Auto/Manual feature. That both pilot and Co-pilot can utilize at will.
