Vehicle collision physics (trees, rocks, fences)
New, WishlistPublic

Description

I'm quite sure this has been reported before, but as I couldn't find it on a quick search and as I think it's an major issue, I'll post it.

To be honest, I'm quite shocked this kind of issue is still there while the game is about to be released in less than a month.

Right now it's impossible to drive with any kind of vehicle through a forest-like area. Minor collisions are randomly and quite often causing the vehicle get launched into the air, spinning like crazy land a few hundret meteres away. This happens mainly when colliding with a tree, as far as I know sometimes also with rocks and other obstacles. (+ mines and other explosives getting off near a vehicle?)

Plus, even when only slightly touching a tree, the reaction randomly but quite often is way too strong. Example: When driving in the BTR and slightly contact a tree with the side of the vehicle, that heavy vehicle gets bumped a few meters in some direction.

Another less major issue is the fact, that vehicles get damaged way too easy by only minor objects. Worst example: My Hunter got so badly damaged that it exploded after hitting only a thin little wooden fence pole (hitting it from the side, so I guess the whole fence [note: just a wired fence] and not only the pole was calculated as obstactle.

Summarized I have to say sadly the whole vehicle-obstacle colliding system is totally broken as this happens randomly but that often you almost have to say regulary.

Steps To Reproduce

Take any kind of vehicle (especially APC Marshall is good for demonstration), drive through a forest and hit some trees at different speeds and angles. Not long until your 20 ton APC will get thrown around like a leave in the wind.
