Computer reboots after firing missile
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When i fire a missile out of a titan launcher (havnt tried the other ones) my computer immediately reboots. I had this issue since the alpha version (with the other missle launchers) but couldnt reproduce it when the beta came, where it seemed to be fixed. However the issue is back since the latest beta update.

In the alpha i had the same problem when i ejected smoke grenades out of a vehicle, but i couldnt reproduce this with the latest version yet.

First i thought my computer might get too hot or the memory produces errors but serveral stress tests, mem-tests and temperature monitoring showed that this isnt the case.

This is by far the most retarted bug ever. I have not had this luckly but i can understand the frustration to people who have this issue. /upvoted.

drivers?

I think the drivers are listed in the dxdiag file

We need .bidmp and .mdmp files too. When files will be too big, so please upload them to some free sharing service and post link here. Thank you.

Where can i find them? They dont seem to be in C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\

Yes, files should be there, it is strange, files should be created after every crash. It should by have same name like .rpt. (arma3_2013-07-14_17-49-42.bidmp for example)

I looked again they arent there. I also searched for them in the subfolders "players", "squads" and "mpmissionscache". Maybe they cant be created because the computer reboots immediately.

If you have overclocked hardware, can you try set to default and try shoot from Titan again?

Nothing is overclocked and the temperatures are looking fine.

Can you try it on all overall graphic settings? Start with low and then better overall graphic settings.

Can you try install latest graphic drivers? Usage of driver cleaner before installing new drivers will make sure you have no corrupted drivers left on computer.

I always update my graphic driver with nvidia geforce experience which automatically deinstalls the previous driver. But i will manually deinstall/install the drivers as soon as i have time to be sure that everything works fine.

I tried to reproduce the issue with all settings on low/disabled and the resolution on the lowest value possible. I had no crashes and set the values higher step by step. Even with all settings on the highest value possible the system didnt crash but as soon as i set my resolution on native it rebootes again.

No unexpected reboots for months. It seems to be fixed, but for whatever reason i can't change the ticket's status.

Thank you for info.
