I'm not sure if there is an option for this or not, but why can't you shoot while running or walking? Every time you run or walk the character always stops to shoot. You should be able to shoot on the go! Again, I don't know if you can and I'm just oblivious to an option for that or something..

Steps To Reproduce
walk or run and shoot your weapon. The character will stop and shoot, while you should be able to shoot without the character moving. Works whit automatic/single shot.

I didn't make this clear in the steps to reproduce. I should have said you should be able to shoot and keep moving(but the character will stop once the weapon is fired).
