Steps To Reproduce
Right click on Arma 3 Alpha in steam , select play,I get Appcrash meassage
'Arma3alpha has stopped working' which includes the Problem Signature which is in zipped package.
The game has never started or progressed beyond this point.
Additional Information
The file "Arma 3 Alpha" does not exist at:
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3 Alpha\ ,steam instead placed it at:
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Arma 3 Alpha\
The "Arma 3 Alpha" also exists at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3
I have tried running the game as Admin with the same Appcrash result.

Issue seems to be caused by Zonealarm for me also.
But simply turning ZA off isn't enough.
I have managed to get it to work by un-installing the ZA Toolbar, then setting the "ZoneAlarm LTD Toolbar IswSvc" service to manual. Then after a reboot and exiting ZA from the right-click popup Arma 3 will finally start.
ZA can then be restarted or the computer rebooted to restart it - this saves having to remove ZA altogether.

I had the exact same issues:
"Click play > Select Fullscreen/Windowed in Steam Launcher > Click ok > appcrash window"
Uninstalled ZoneAlarm > Rebooted > Worked perfectly from then on...
As already mentioned, No folder generated in the AppData folder in "/user/AppData/" before I uninstalled ZoneAlarm... Now Arma 3 is running fine there is a folder there now.
