When launching game, error appears and game doesn't start
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

After executing arma3.exe, an error appears "This application can not be started because d3d11.dll can't be found. Re-installing this application might solve this problem."
Except for this error, nothing happens at all.

Steps taken:
used Steam to verify game integrity (ok), added the "-nobenchmark" and "-winxp" launch options, executed as administrator, disabled the firewall, checked if DirectX was up-to-date (ok), reinstalled nVidia drivers (ok), reinstalled game and rechecked integrity (ok).

I have a DirectX 10 compatible nVidia card.

Apparently the game tries to start with DX11 instead of DX10... Anyway to force it to use the latter?

Issue solved for me. Apparently, DirectX doesn't update to DX11 if certain system updates are not installed on Windows Vista. Although I was already running SP2.
