Computer crashes when launched fullscreen.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If I launch the game in fullscreen, the screen goes black and the computer remains frozen: alt+tab, ctr+alt+supr, alt+F4 or ESC are not working. The only way is using the reset button.

However, when steam lets me choose the windowed mode, there is no crash and the game works as expected. Steam only gives me the option to choose between windowed or fullscreen mode when I launch Arma3 with steam closed. If I launch it with steam already opened, it just go straight forward to the fullscreen mode and ir crash. {F17013} {F17014}

I've configured the game to windowed fullscreen and it's also launching without problems.

Added clean arma3.rpt when crash happened.

We need dxdiag and files from this folder for solve your problem. C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3 Alpha\

Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 5,000k, so you can attach here. Thank you.

I've already uploaded those two files, do you need me to pack them and reupload them?

No it is ok:)
bidmp a midmp files were not created?

Nop! Even when playing successfully.

The status shows: "need more info". Should I add anything else?

I think i might have overwritten electrotime's rar archive. I thought I could use the uploading function too and uploaded my crash dump and dxdiag. I've got different problems as the thread starter but also resulting in crashes. Sorry again.

Haha! ^_^

Good one, but don't worry, I didn't upload any rar so you just added a new one.

Can you try please install latest graphic and sound drivers? Usage of driver cleaner before installing new drivers will make sure you have no corrupted drivers left on computer.

What driver cleaner can I use?

I've upgraded to a new ATI 7870, and I've deleted the nvidia graphics and any realtek sound driver... now it's working at fullscreen while launching.

However, I'm having the same complete freeze with other game (Sniper Elite V2) and I'm pretty sure this has to be related with the f*** on-board realtek audio.

This ticket could be closed, but I would suggest you to take note about the realtek issue...

Thank you.

Amazing. Found the true problem: Private Firewall 7.0.29.1

When I close that firewall, which I've recently installed on my system, every game that I've been having problems with works perfectly.

ADD PRIVATE FIREWALL TO THE KNOWN PROBLEMATIC SOFTWARE!!!

resolved.

Thank you for info.
