Different reloading of BTR and BRDM weapons for bots and players
New, NormalPublic

Description

Game Version number: Arma Reforger stable version 1.4.0.48
Modded?: (Yes/No) No

Issue Description:

The game animation does not raise the weapon barrel (USSR BTR or BRDM) up when the bot reloads it, while for the player this is done necessarily.
Please make it the same for bots and players - and better without raising the barrel up (explanations are given in the additional information section).

Place a bot in the gunner's seat of a Soviet APC or BRDM. Give the command to open fire with barrage fire. Watch from the side - the moment of reloading the gun will not be visible (the player raises the barrel, but the bots do not).

Additional Information

In the game, the requirements of paragraph 5.3.2 of the "Technical Description and Operating Instructions for the BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carrier" are mistakenly used to animate the reloading of a machine gun on the USSR APC and BRDM. However, the requirements of paragraph 1 of this guide to using the weapon documentation were not taken into account.

The paragraph 5.3.2 of this document used in the game actually contains requirements for raising the barrel to the uppermost position before loading, but paragraph 5.3.2 describes the transfer of the vehicle from the traveling position to the combat position, including removing the casings from the guns, adjusting the seat, inspecting the equipment and other adjustments and checks of the gun turret. This paragraph applies to peacetime transportation conditions, for example, when moving to an exercise site. It does not apply to combat troop movements. At the same time, according to the documents described in paragraph 1 of the "Technical Description and Operating Instructions for the BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carrier", namely the document "Memo on Handling a Tank Machine Gun", Section VII "Loading the Machine Gun" can be done in two ways:

  1. with the receiver cover closed;
  2. with the receiver cover open.

The first method is used for full cartridge belts.
The second method is recommended for incomplete cartridge belts (this does not exclude the first method, but it will take more time).

You may have already guessed that to open the receiver, you need to raise the barrel. In other words, the second loading method involves raising the barrel. The first method does not require this. In combat conditions, the main loading method is the first method - without raising the barrel. It should be noted that sometimes it is more convenient to reload incomplete cartridge belts (not full boxes of cartridges) by raising the barrel, but since the belts are composite (10 rounds for the KPVT and 50 rounds for the PKM), you can do without raising the barrel.
