Every GPS Receiver I find never seems to work. The screen will turn on and I can see the green display but no text(black text) ever shows. I tried keeping them out of rain and dry thinking that was the case but it never works. The screen always turns on but never shows the coordinates

Use a dry GPS Receiver and turn it on with a battery installed.
Additional Information
Some players have found a trick to see the text by laying down on your back with your arms in the air and the text would finally display. I tried multiple times to reproduce that method but to no prevail. It happens so often that I’ve just given up trying to use them. Which is unfortunate cause sometimes I have a hard time finding my stash in the middle of nowhere. Or getting stuck on an island with no boat, and having to jump servers to teleport back to mainland, which causes me to be lost with no coordinates.
