Critical Exploit on PS4 Server “Kingdom” – Request for PlayStation+ Access Control Option
Feedback, NormalPublic

Description

Dear Bohemia Interactive Team,

We are the team behind Kingdom, currently the most popular 82-slot DayZ server on PlayStation 4. Our server has maintained a consistent 24/7 full population, and has become a central hub for DayZ players on the platform. One of our most beloved features is our custom-built Trader Castle, where the entire server often gathers to trade, socialize, and build stories together. Kingdom is more than just a server—it's a strong, active community that thrives on immersive gameplay and fair play.

However, we are reaching out with an urgent request regarding a game-breaking exploit that is severely impacting our server and its players.
The Problem

For over three weeks now, a coordinated group of malicious players has been intentionally exploiting an issue that causes PlayStation consoles to freeze or crash for players within thier radius. These disruptions are not random—they are premeditated. The individuals behind them announce the freezes in voice chat, advertise competing servers during the crashes, and repeatedly return using alternate accounts. This has turned into a form of server sabotage and is threatening the health of our community.

This exploit is:

Crashing consoles, risking player hardware and corrupting game files.

Driving away legitimate players, as many fear their systems will be damaged.

Impossible to stop, as bad actors simply create new PSN accounts and rejoin.

Our Request: A Platform-Level Whitelist Control

We propose a new server management option for PlayStation servers that could be extremely effective:

Whitelist Access Mode – Enable a toggle for community servers to require players to have an active PlayStation Plus subscription to join.

This would significantly raise the barrier for griefers who rely on free, disposable alt accounts.

Paired with a Priority List (whitelist), server owners could allow exceptions for known community members without PS Plus (e.g., our trader accounts or those with limited access).

This would not only give server owners more control over who joins their communities, but would also:

Protect against griefers using unlimited alt accounts.

Support PlayStation moderation systems, as PS Plus accounts are more traceable.

Preserve the integrity of high-population servers like Kingdom that drive DayZ’s popularity on console.

Final Thoughts

We love DayZ, and our community is deeply invested in the game. We have built something special—but right now, we’re powerless against a form of abuse that could be stopped with the right tools. We respectfully urge you to consider implementing this PlayStation-specific server access option.

Thank you for your time, and for continuing to support the DayZ community.

Sincerely,
The Kingdom Admin Team

Thats good to hear,

As a long-time member of the DayZ community and server administrator, I’m reaching out with a feature request that could significantly improve community server moderation and player experience on PlayStation.

⚙️ Feature Request:

Add an optional server setting that restricts access only to users with an active PlayStation Plus subscription, with an exception-based whitelist system.

🎯 Purpose:

To reduce abuse by malicious actors who exploit the ease of creating new PlayStation accounts to bypass bans, harass players, and disrupt server integrity.

🔍 Problem Context:

Our server—and many others—face a recurring issue: banned players creating alt accounts to continue toxic behavior, cheat, or disrupt gameplay. These accounts are often throwaway PSN accounts without PlayStation Plus, created solely to bypass bans. Because PS+ is not required for local or solo play, these users can repeatedly evade restrictions, costing server admins hours of reactive work.

✅ Benefits of This Feature:

  1. 🛡️ Enhanced Security & Accountability
    • Linking access to PS+ discourages casual ban evasion since PS+ requires personal/payment info, making it harder to abuse.
    • Even if a new account is made, requiring a paid subscription raises the barrier of entry for malicious users.
  1. ⚙️ Streamlined Moderation
    • With an optional whitelist system, we can make exceptions for known good-faith players (e.g., trusted community members without PS+).
    • Removes the need for constant manual bans or IP tracking.
  1. 🎮 Protects Player Experience
    • Legitimate players are better protected from harassment, griefing, or server sabotage.
    • Helps maintain a stable, healthy community long-term.
  1. 🧩 Fully Optional
    • Servers can choose whether or not to enable this feature, keeping it in line with DayZ’s flexible server philosophy.

🔄 Proposed Implementation:

  • Toggle Option in Server Settings:
    • Require_PSPlus = true/false
  • Whitelist Configuration:
    • File or UI-based whitelist where specific PSN IDs can bypass the PS+ check (e.g., for community helpers or our trader accounts).

🔚 Final Thoughts:

This feature would be a proactive solution to a growing problem across community servers. By adding a simple optional gate through PS+, DayZ servers could dramatically reduce bad actors, improve moderation efficiency, and foster a more positive environment for genuine players.

We deeply appreciate the tools DayZ already offers server admins and believe this feature would be a powerful addition to the arsenal. Thank you for your continued support of the community.

Sincerely,
Kingdom Server
