To the devs

I'd like to thank you all in the Dayz development team, you really do a great job keeping this old game updated and running, so huge pat on the back for that.

I know nothing at all about developing a game so I don't know the ins and outs about how it all works. I can only imagine it takes a lot of time, resources and obviously trial and error.

I have read through the roadmap for 2025 and it's great to see an old gun coming back for a second chance. Also I so think 1.27 is a fantastic update for stabilising the next 12 months of updates. A huge list of fixes,tweaks and the likes.

In my years of playing dayz, owning servers, making private files for other servers, there's always one thing that the community wants. I hear it everyday as I am sure you lot do also and that is base building.

Back in 2018 Dayz 1.0 update was released and along with it came base building. This was a great time for the community it brought loads of new players to the platform. More people spending time playing the game, after all it gave us a "quest" to achieve. Fast forward to today a full 7 years since 1.0 and other than minor tweaks there hasn't been any progress on base building. I personally feel like adding an update to base building will give a lot of the community something extremely exciting to look forward to.

(keep in mind I know nothing about development)
I don't mean anything drastic or too complex.
Being able to choose a side for the gate hinge and lock.
Boarding up windows with wooden planks and nails.
Half sized walls and gates to secure buildings better.
Watchtower walls able to turn into gates.
I can't imagine this would be difficult to achieve but then again I'm not a designer/developer.

I believe a base building update is long overdue and would bring back a lot of players that have walked away from dayz. I feel that base building is a massive part of the community's time spent on Dayz. It is a huge part of content creators videos too. I think and I dare say that the majority of the community would prefer a building update rather than new weapons or clothing.

I understand I will probably not receive feedback from the team for this as I know your all busy chaps but please keep in mind that this is one of the most talked about dayz subject.
