Any time you jump against a wall or thing you can mantle it will automatically throw you on top of it even if you are facing a different direction. This is not really a huge bug but the mantle system should not vault you up a wall when you are looking the complete other direction, if you are trying to get away from someone and you jump to move quicker, sometimes the game will do a full vault animation to get up something the size of a toolbox.
