Mic problems with Razer Blackshark V2 X Headset
New, NormalPublic

Description

A while ago I had to buy a new headset, because my old one had serveral issues. So I went from my old Corsair Void Pro RGB USB to the Razer Blackshark V2 X. I was super happy with the audio quality und everything seemed fine, but in the first session of DayZ my mate told me, that he can't hear me ingame. I was confused, because on Teamspeak, Discord or other games like CS2 my mic worked perfectly. I haven't changed any settings in DayZ after I changed my headset. While holding shift ingame, I can also see the mic symbol. I searched the internet and there're serveral posts on reddit or on steam from other players with the same mic issue (of course also with this headset) in DayZ, but nobody had a solution (that actually worked). It's very frustrating that I can't talk ingame, because everybody knows what happens with survivors without a mic. I hope that someone has a solution for this problem so I can play DayZ like I used to play with a working ingame chat. Sadly there're not many audio settings, so I can't choose my audio devices like in other games for example.

Edit: I finally found the solution! I found a german post on the DayZ steam community page where another user with a Razer headset had the same issue with a not working ingame voice chat. Somebody wrote a comment that there are different audio standards. Long story short...he recommended to buy a CTIA-OMTP adapter from Amazon. With the adapter other players can hear me again via ingame voice chat. If it's allowed to post links, I will do so that other users can read the steam community post or buy the adapter from Amazon.
