JSON loot Spawner affecting CLE
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I did some test with my LAN Server. So it really seems like JSON spawned items are affecting CLE. I used plate carriers to test it. We have 1 black, and 1 green plate carriers added to our server. They spawn in tier 4 militaries. We also have 1 black, and 1 green in our JSON shed. They will not show anywhere else on the map, when I have them in our JSON shed, when I delete them from our shed, they will start showing up in tier 4 militaries. I would delete them from the map where they are, and they will spawn some where else again. Then I did a restart to reset the JSON shed, with them being back at the shed, after that they won't show at tier 4 militaries anymore.

I hope this doesn't get fixed yet till they fix the restock timer, because I use the .json to force use the restock timer for items that have a low item count. Example Add 2 DMRs to a JSON file, and set a max of 3 and a min of 1 to DMRs in types and it'll always use the restock timer in the types file after it gets picked up. Yes there will be only one DMR spawning, but it gets to use the restock timer, so DMR aren't easy to find. I did this to have a temporary fix to this bug until its fixed on 1.26: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T177835

Hello HeyRelaxBrah.
We have tested this on our end but we cound not find any issues. Once items spawned by json are manipulated by player, they will have an effect on game CE, this is expected behavior.

Geez

Incorrect, I have taken my JSON Trader out of my server and now the loot has started spawning back into contaminated zones. CE Persistency is also set to 0. There is still an error with JSON items effecting the CLE.

It’s effecting the CLE without any player interacting with it. Hence why when I take my Trader out the items start spawning back into the economy.

I do think the json spawned in items are affecting with CLE even without being interacted with. I have tested it for ours by using contaminated zone loots. When we have M4, VSD, AUG, AKM in our json shed, we could not find them in the toxic zones, we have 2 players checking both zones at the same time. As soon as the json shed got removed, we can start finding these guns. I even test it on a LAN server for hours. So dig a little deeper please.

I agree with what you’re saying, many other server owners are reporting the same issue. We all can’t be wrong.

It is like every time I mention this issue, people will usually use their past knowledge to quickly doubt this. Because they all believe the JSON should be working like it suppose to. However, I don’t think it is the case this time, they can be causing issues with new update, for example the stacking issue during 1.19.

It seriously needs to be addressed, it’s messing up the CLE on peoples servers that use JSON Traders, Bunkers, Custom Areas, etc. It’s not suppose to affect the CLE when it’s not being interacted with.

Can you please send the example .json or ideally the whole mission folder so we can check?

Thank you.
We cannot seem to produce the described behaviour even with the provided .json file.

I’ve spoken to at least 4 different server owners who are having the same issue, Plus the 3 who have raised it as an issue here. Please dig a little deeper. It’s no coincidence when I up my numbers in my Types files to above the amount in the Trader they start to spawn in, or when the Trader gets taken out they spawn.

@Geez Try this json file. and set all the items listed in the json in the types.xml as a max of 2, they won't spawn at all. but do a loot wipe before implementing it, you'll see that the json does affect the loot spawns. It won't spawn any of those items, and if you set the max as 3, only one will spawn and uses the restock timer to replenish that item.

That’s the issue I’m having.

Hello everyone.
We could not exactly produce what is described in the initial report, however we did confirm that CE takes .json spawned items into account. (It counts them towards the current amount of loot on the server) That is however a correct behaviour that we do not plan to change as it could cause further issues. Object spawner is primarily designed for spawning assets. For spawning loot we do recommend using CE as Object spawner was not designed for this.
Also restock is going to be fixed for 1.26.
