RPT Logs Nitrado Advises CPU issues caused by this log file issue.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Restarted my servers and checked the RPT logs, there's 3500 lines (in three of my servers I've checked's RPT logs for)

Created a ticket with Nitrado, they told me to contact Bohemia.
In Nitrado discord PC server owners have mentioned they were instructed by Nitrado "those files are for PC only" but they're not accessable by console users.

Marking as major because all servers are having this issue.

Hello SoulsAggro.
These messages have been present for many versions of the game and generally should not affect the server in any way.

@Geez Can we fix or remove the error? Not entirely sure how a message that supposedly has no impact spams the logs and I don't see any benefit in it other than to clutter the log.

@Geez Please remove it then? 3500 lines of spam every single time a server restarts, Nitrado advised that the CPU is messed up due to missing configuration files, they told us to bring it to you to get it fixed, below is the cpu usage on 3 servers with players currently on the servers, so is it Bohemia or Nitrado that needs to resolve this issue so our servers we pay for can actually be used properly.

@SSmith writing to a file is disk heavy isn't it? Nitrado tells us that log output affects server performance, so wouldn't this spam be affecting the servers performance? Especially on start up.

I was helping a buddy with his RPT logs the other day (parent problems in cfgspawnabletypes) and that combined with these "missing configuration files" causes his RPT logs to delete as soon as you try and view them with an error on Nitrado stating "This file is created on demand"
Essentially, this useless spam that

"should not affect the server in any way"

is making the RPT file useless to debug issues because the spam + errors in files makes the RPT file delete, so it's creating a file, writing to the file whilst slowing down performance, then deleting the file due to excessive size.

SoulsAggro renamed this task from RPT Logs "No components", "Way too much components", "Size: '/' not an array" and "No entry 'bin\config.bin/'." to RPT Logs Nitrado Advises CPU issues caused by this log file issue..May 25 2023, 11:22 AM
