If you want to zoom in on the compass (when it's equipped) so you can see your bearing, you have to press LT (Left Trigger) on the Xbox Controller. However, if you have a weapon on your shoulder or equipped, your character will ADS (aim down sight) instead! The only solution I've found was to drop all my weapons!
