. I was on the military island with the geodome. I did not destroy the dome. Instead I entered one of the barracks buildings immediate front/right (as you are facing away from the dome toward the airfield) as i entered an upstairs room that contained a computer, i tried saving the game. The game froze at this time.

I tried loading the most recent prior save and after a couple minutes, it again crashed.

I successfully completed the file verification process and started the game. it immediately crashed.
