Description

Here are a few bugs/exploits/adjustments that I think need to be looked at.

  1. Patch 1.13 made it so that melee weapons no longer drop on the ground when they get ruined and become unuseable. Now you can still hit and damage things with ruined melee but you are unable to perform any actions (opening a can and etc). This can be exploited. You can now use simply 1 melee weapon to raid any base no matter the size since ruined weapons still inflict damage to stuff. This is strong even without setting up a macro for it. 1.12 you had to find a lot of melee weapons to break into the base and this is what balanced melee raiding. Ruined weapons definitely shouldn't inflict dmg to player made structures.
  1. Right now it is very easy to get rid of barbed wire on a base. Pliers can be used infront of the gate/wall to remove the barbed wire and also it takes around 10 hits with a pickaxe to destroy the barbed wire. Removing barbed wire should only be possible behind the gate/wall just like it works with demolishing a gate/wall. Also could consider upping the health of the barbed wire so it can take more hits and be a more valuable addition to the base.
  1. The way grenades currently inflict dmg to walls/gates could be improved. As of right now on vanilla. It takes 6 grenades to destroy both wood gate/wall and metal gate/wall. Metal should definitely be stronger than wood like it once was. The reason there is that grenades dmg both the frame and the wall itself so the amount of grenades required to destroy a gate is purely dependent on the health of the frame. Also, after using those 6 grenades, only 1 part of the wall gets destroyed. (90% of the time it is the top part.) Grenades should inflict equal amount of damage to both top and bottom part of the wall and there needs to be a difference in how many nades is required for wood and metal. (6 and 8?)
  1. Almost every popular server has a FAQ where they answer the following question: What to do once you put the combination lock on the base and you can no longer access it? To prevent that, maybe make it so combination lock UI appears whenever you are close to the gate, not necessarily the lock itself.
  1. Vanilla game spawns 90 boxes of nails. 90 is A LOT. Bases do have a very significant performence impact and being the "endgame" in dayz, i think it is justified to have that be a bit more of a challenge. This would also direct more ephasis on aquiring the other forms of storage you can find in game instead of crafting a million storage boxes. My recommendation would be 50 boxes spawning.
  1. With the damage changes in the last 2 patches, guns overall do significantly more base damage and therefore raiding is much easier than it was in 1.11. I feel that increasing the health numbers on base structures would be a good balance.

My recommendation (this would make the speed of raiding similar to 1.11):

Wooden Frame 12000 > 18000
Wood Wall 16000 > 24000
Metal Wall 21000 > 32000
