Trees shadow could sometimes be not rendered just relatively to the player head direction. It result in portions of your visual getting shadowed or not. So apparently, a portion of a map could be dark to someone and illuminated to another just according to the visual angle of the two players.

Steps To Reproduce
Stay still or travel a portion of the map where the sun is low on your current horizon (dawn and sunset mostly). Let an high tree or bunch of trees be between you and the sun rays, but with the sun lateral or behind you. Rotate your visual or your entire character around. It happen standing still or moving, the only condition is the sun low respect of you (long shadows), and trees behind you (or lateral) depicting shadow which beyond you or front you.
