I put a fireplace with 3 logs and 1 rag into my Field Backpack (because 1.10, you always need one). I kept it there for a while, definitely over several restarts.
When I took it out and placed it, there was no longer the option to light it. My matches were dry, the fireplace was dry, the firewood was dry, the rags were dry. There was only the option to TAKE.

I thought it might be a problem with the location, so I chopped down some new ingredients and built a new fireplace and placed it in the same place. It had the option to light it.

It was a modded Deer Isle server. So there's always the possibility of mod issues causing it.
