I tried using a Steam launch parameter called -noPause, but there is no sound when alt tabbing to another window.

I asked on Reddit, and I received this response from a knowledgeable player:

"I've seen this asked regularly over the years and no one has gotten it working as far as I know. The program simply stops making noise when it loses focus."

The reason that this matters is to me is that I live stream DayZ a lot on Twitch. I often need to alt tab to other windows like my internet browser. When I do so, the stream viewer can still see the game. The game is still animated. But then there is no sound. If there was sound, it would make for a much better viewer experience. Also, I hate not hearing sound myself when I am not focused in the DayZ game window. It bothers me to hear great music and then it gets cut off and goes completely dead just because I needed to do something outside the game window for a while.
