My inventory was full except for some first aid pouches. I ran into a gun cleaning kit in a feed shack WNW of Solnichniy and took it into my hands. I swapped the gun cleaning kit for a weapon, and it disappeared. Subsequently, I became unable to put items that were not in hotbar slots into my hands. I encountered some mushrooms in the field past the feed shack and attempted to put them into my hands to no avail, and am unable to put them into my inventory. I located the gun cleaning kit in one of the first aid pouches, and attempted to put it into my inventory to no avail. I dropped the kit and a hacksaw I had in my inventory in order to attempt to make room for the gun cleaning kit and am now unable to put either the cleaning kit or the hacksaw back into my inventory. After some rearrangement, I was able to put a mushroom into my inventory, and subsequently my hands, but am unable to eat it. Attempts to take items on the ground or take them into my hands fail silently.

I was subsequently wounded by an infected and was able to put rags/bandages into my hands from my inventory, but am unable to bandage myself. When I hold down my left mouse button, the meter begins to fill but stops after a fraction of a second. This is the same behavior exhibited when attempting to eat.
