Randomly Died in Camping Tent, No Loot Stolen
New, NormalPublic

Description

I found a small camping tent with camo netting and it set up in a well secluded spot of the forest. This tent storage was filled to the brim and also contained more wooden crates, also full. I took a shovel and buried some of the crates outside under some trees, for extra safety, then went back into my tent and dropped the shovel to rearrange my inventory. There is a common glitch where I drop an item to the ground and am unable to pick it back up again, which I have fixed in the past by emptying my hands and assuming the F11 suicide position (found this fix through online forums). My hands were certainly empty, I could see in third person, then I clicked the trigger to fix the glitch and pick up my shovel, and then died.

I thought it was possible that I could have been shot from outside my tent at the exact moment, but after travelling across the map, back to my tent, ALL of my loot stored was still there. Not a single item was stolen, except my body and all the items I had on me were despawned. There is no way I was shot... they had empty backpacks in my tent to carry the gear off with. I had some really valuable gear on me though, and do not want this to happen again. If anybody knows anything about this bug, please help me out.

Event Timeline

I guess that your hands were bugged and in reality had the shovel in your hands and commited suicide with it. That is why you couldn't pick it up, it wasn't there, it was in your hands all that time only that you couldn't see it.

Next time try F5 not F11, F5 drops anything you have in your hands, it fixes your hands but your inventory or the item on the floor will still be bugged until you exit and login again.

Alright, thanks for the responses. Thought F11 was a somewhat risky fix but didnt think this would happen.

I'll try F5 in the future.
