Hardware Antialiasing adds a noticable delay to mouse movement and a feeling of sluggishness. With it off, there is a difference in responsiveness when moving your mouse (severely noticable when moving mouse rapidly) and there is less/no feeling of sluggishness.
At face value, the higher the setting, the more intense the delay. This, specifically, may be a placebo effect.
To test if this is attributed to other settings, I did the following:
- Set preset quality to Poor, apply.
- Enabled all settings to Extreme one by one, starting from top to bottom.
- Move my mouse rapidly during each and every set to Extreme, to test for input lag.
- Enable Hardware Acceleration
- Move my mouse rapidly, I now notice a gameplay affecting input lag.
