Game Crash - FPS drops from 140+ to 40ish when moving mouse
New, NormalPublic

Description

Hi guys!
Reinstalling the game after 2 years and can´t seem to have steady fps. When running on forward on a straight line I get around 140 fps but any change in direction or looking around makes it drop to around 40 fps or less. The game is installed on my SSD which is where my OS (Windows 10 is).

I'll leave my basic specs here and please feel free to ask anything else. Would really appreciate if someone could give me some advice.

There is a Steam thread that I created regarding this matter you can check to see everything I tried already:

All that it is needed is just to move the mouse. If I don't touch the mouse (if I walk or run on a straight line) there is no issue.

Hi Tiangor.

  • Do you use gaming mouse?

If yes I would try to lower your mouse polling rate. Or just try connect ordinary mouse.

  • Does this issue also happen when you lower your in game video settings?

For example when you set everything to medium or low.

Also make sure in task manager that your PC resources (CPU/RAM/GPU/DISK) are not eaten too much by any other program.

  • What is your monitor refresh rate?

I also suggest turning V-synch OFF.

  • Is server performance OK? Isn't the server overloaded - High slots count/Custom mods?

You can also try to delete DayZ folder in directory "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\" It will reset your in game settings and keybindings. (Some keybindings and setting can cause troubles sometimes so this should fix it).

I would also suggest to verify game files.
